Circle time: The children were asked what they know about gardens. As they offered their ideas, on the interactive whiteboard I created a web based on their comments and questions. The illustrations that the children drew next to the written word helped them understand the web better. After the discussion a KWL chart was developed to indicate what children know about the topic and what they want to learn. Later on in the day, the children were read a story on which the present project is based.
