Science - pushes

Through junk material and matchbox cars the children learnt about
what causes the car to go faster down the cardboard tube
 - an extra push to surpass the line marked with
masking tape on the carpet.

The line marked with masking tape.

A few children kept the score of the participants using
first letter of children's names and
beads for points.

This was a child-initiated activity that involved science, numeracy and literacy.
Moreover, they practised skills that are essential to work in a group such as turn-taking.

A problem-solving and perseverance task.

Holes are punched in cardboard tubes.

Using straws, the children were encouraged to
put each one through a different hole to create a model.

Recycling

 Sorting trays.

These items were hidden in several places in class. Children had to look
out for them and place in the appropriate tray.
